The Ministry of Health has prepared all the necessary infrastructure to produce all 13 vaccines in the national vaccination calendar in Türkiye.
The aim will not only be to meet the country’s vaccine needs, but also to offer a strong alternative to global markets.
PRODUCTION IN LOCAL FACILITIES
Vaccines will be produced in domestic facilities, primarily at the Hygiene Vaccine and Biotechnological Product Production Center.
The production processes of some vaccines are planned to be carried out in cooperation with the private sector.
RESEARCH COMPLETED
The research processes of different types of vaccines, such as inactivated and mRNA vaccines, have been completed at the center.
Studies continue for vaccines to pass the World Health Organization (WHO) and European Union certification processes.
Türkiye WILL RISE TO A COMPETITIVE POSITION
Once the certification processes are completed, the vaccines will be used not only in Türkiye but also on a global scale.
Thus, Türkiye will become a competitive country in vaccine exports and its production capacity will reach global levels.
STRATEGIC PLANNING FOR HIGH COST DRUGS
The Ministry has identified drug groups that are procured at high costs in Türkiye.
The facilities where strategic products will be produced and the areas of cooperation with the sector have been determined.
Local facilities with existing infrastructure will be transformed into value-added facilities.
TECHNOLOGICAL PROGRESS IN DIABETES MONITORING WITH DOMESTIC GLUCOSE SENSOR
There are also significant developments in medical devices requiring high technology.
The local and accessible glucose sensor to be used in diabetes monitoring has successfully passed laboratory tests.
All phases are planned to be completed in June.
The device will facilitate blood sugar measurement in all age groups and allow for appropriate insulin dose adjustments.
