
An investigation launched into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality over corruption allegations continues.
As part of the investigation, a fourth wave operation was carried out and 45 people were detained. Four people with detention warrants are wanted by security forces.
It was reported that the operation was launched regarding allegations of irregularities in İSTAÇ, KİPTAŞ and the Road Maintenance Department.
In this context, 45 people, including KİPTAŞ Board Chairman Ali Kurt, İSTAÇ Board Chairman Ziya Gökmen Togay, İBB Road Maintenance and Infrastructure Coordination Department Head Seyfullah Demirel, İBB Private Secretary Kadriye Kasapoğlu, Ekrem İmamoğlu’s protection manager Mustafa Akın, İBB Mukhtar Affairs Department Head Yavuz Saltık, Yapı Merkez İnşaat owners Mustafa Başar Arıoğlu, Erdem Arıoğlu and Özge Arıoğlu, are being held in the police station.
The suspects were taken to the Istanbul Police Department’s Vatan Street campus and the interrogation process began.
